Apogee Minerals Appoints Robert Campbell, M.Sc., P.Geo., Vice President, Exploration and Deborah Battiston chief Financial Officer

Toronto, Ontario, March 29, 2005, Apogee Minerals Ltd. (TSX Venture Exchange: APE) has appointed Mr. Robert Anderson Campbell, M.Sc., P.Geo., to the position of Vice President, Exploration and Ms. Deborah Battiston to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Campbell is a Senior Geologist with over 27 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry across North and South America. He has extensive geological experience in all phases from grass roots reconnaissance to detailed supervision of advanced-stage projects, with a particular emphasis in South America. He has a solid track record of managing, developing and evaluating mineral opportunities for both the business development and exploration sectors, and has worked for major mining companies including Lac Minerals and Noranda Inc., in addition to junior exploration companies.

Mr. Campbell’s primary focus will be to rapidly advance the exploration development at the La Solucion Mine, located 17 km outside of La Paz, Bolivia. Apogee recently announced a Letter of Intent to acquire the mine, 6000 ha of property, and 120 tonnes per day flotation mill which has been producing at a rate of 100 tonnes per day for the past 13 years (see Press Release dated February 23, 2005). The ore has graded an average of 7% Zinc, 3 – 4% Lead, and approximately 150 g/t Silver. No known exploration has ever been carried out on the property.

A Phase I exploration program, dominated by drilling, will begin shortly at La Solucion to begin the process of quantifying and expanding known mineral resources on the property. Apogee’s exploration strategy at La Solucion will be focused on evaluating mineralization within known veins sub-parallel to veins being mined, particularly where the veins coalesce and intersect, and to evaluate the known vein systems along strike and above and below current mining levels.

“We are very pleased that an individual with the experience and caliber of Andy has joined Apogee” stated Apogee President and CEO John Carlesso. “His expertise will provide critical contribution to the development of La Solucion. In order to plan significant production growth, our strategy is focused on identifying new resources both at the mine and on the property. We are also in the process of finalizing our plans for the company’s major exploration initiatives in 2005 and we expect the level of activity on all of our properties to increase significantly in the coming weeks and months.”

The appointment of Ms. Battiston as CFO follows the resignation of Mr. Stephen Woodhead. Deborah is a C.G.A with over 20 years of financial management and accounting experience. She obtained her B.A. in Economics from the University of Guelph and has substantial experience working with emerging mineral exploration companies. Deborah also has broad international experience having dealt with companies in 8 countries and having lived and worked in Japan for several years.

The company has granted 150,000 options to officers of the company to purchase common shares at $0.35 per share, subject to regulatory approval.

Apogee Minerals Ltd. is a Canadian exploration and development company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol APE.
